#1 the point of this module
In Module 13, you will be checking out a sampling of web tools that are free and easy to use. The best part is, they are tools that can help you be creative about ways to present information on your blog and Weebly website. You have already learned about some web tools, like blogs, websites, online concept maps, slideshows, and screencasts. This module will show you some other types of web tools that don't quite fit into those categories.
The one thing all of these web tools have in common is that when you have finished your creation, you will be able to get that all-important EMBED CODE! By now you should know well that copying that piece of code will allow you to stream it through your blog or website.
*NOTE - there are literally thousands of web tools available at any given time - this sampling represents some of the better, higher-quality tools that have been around for awhile. One thing you will learn about web tools is they often come and go quickly. You may get very attached to a cool animation tool, only to find out one day that it no longer exists! The great thing about the web is that there are probably 100 more animation tools out there to choose from, and some will be really good - maybe even better than the one that's gone!
EXPECTATIONS:
The expectation for this module is that you will take some time to check out each of these web tools. After you have done this, you will select TWO to use for the Module 13 assignment.

#2 voicethread
What is VoiceThread?
With VoiceThread, group conversations are collected from anywhere in the world at any time and shared in one place, all with no software to install. A VoiceThread is a collaborative, interactive, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos. It allows people to navigate through the slides and leave comments in several ways: using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, or video (via a webcam). Share a VoiceThread with friends, students, and colleagues so they can record comments, too. Users can doodle while commenting (drawing annotation overlays), use multiple Identities, and pick which comments are shown through Comment Moderation. VoiceThreads can even be embedded to play and receive comments on other websites, and they can be exported and saved as a file on your computer or flash drive so that you can send them in an email or play them as an archival movie on a digital device.
