module 14: Editing and publishing video
Students will learn how to put their filmed images into a video editor. This can be done on a program on various free online web tools listed in this module or on an iPhone, iPad or Mac using iMovie. Students will learn editing techniques and features that can help create an impactful and entertaining visual message or idea.

#1 module overview
In this module you will be introduced to 4 movie-making technologies. Depending on what kind of computer and operating system you are running, you will definitely have access to at least 2 of these.
*If you are using an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can use iMovie.
*If you don't have access to iMovie, there are lots of great web 2.0 movie-making tools out there. One good one that is available to you is WeVideo.
EXPECTATIONS:
You will be choosing ONE movie-making tool to work with for your Module 14 assignment.

Although this module is about video editing software, you have to get that video from somewhere, right? Luckily, that's very easy to do:
- If you have a smart phone, iPad, or computer: you can use the video camera on it.
- iMovie has built-in video filming.
- Most schools still have standard digital video cameras of some kind that they are willing to loan out to students who need them for a specific project.
Ways to get your video footage ON YOUR COMPUTER:
- If you are using a web cam, it's already there.
- Email video to yourself
- Hook up your USB cord and upload the video
- Save your video on your Google Drive, and open it on another device in Google Drive

#4 web-based movie making tools: wevideo
WeVideo is an online video editor and publisher in which you can import your video and pictures, edit your footage, and publish to video hosting sites like YouTube.
#5 Windows live movie maker
Windows Live Movie Maker is a free software for people who use PC's with Windows installed. It may already be on your computer if you have Windows on your PC. Once downloaded, it is a software that sits on your computer. There you can import video clips from your camera or other sources, edit them, and create a movie that you can publish by uploading it to an online video hosting site like YouTube.
